Painter - Manufacturing

Job Description: 

This position requires an individual with painting experience and performing tasks that require precision. The individual must be reliable and deft while showing great attention to detail in completing their duties. Experience in metal fabrication industry would be an asset but not required. On-the-job training will be provided.


Duties & responsibilities: 

  • Undertaking painting duties & operating painting equipment
  • Upkeep of painting areas 
  • Inspecting final products, ensuring conformance to specifications
  • Preparing equipment and surfaces for painting, including sanding, cleaning, masking and coverings, etc.
  • Maintaining records of paint jobs
  • Moving tubs around the yard by way of forklift
  • Undertaking some sandblasting duties
  • Performing daily maintenance and cleaning of paint booth and associated tools and equipment
  • Any other duties requested by the supervisor


Required skills: 

  • Proven experience as a painter helpful but not required
  • Willingness to learn
  • Precision, thoroughness and manual dexterity
  • Willingness to work with paint chemicals and various types of cleaning agents for paint equipment
  • Able to wear and breathe out of fresh air masks (respirator must fit securely))
  • Able to work while wearing all safety gear and obey safety rules of the shop
  • Able to work under minimal supervision
  • Able to read and maintain the paint room schedule
  • Able to work in varying temperatures while sandblasting
  • Ability to work at various heights
  • Clear and concise communication skills
